The children have been using the vocabulary: less, fewer, more, greater during our conversations at school. We compare our weather chart, windy is 2 less than rainy. We compare our question of the day, 22 is greater than 2 and now we are comparing our names with cube towers. Children today had to find peers with equal cubes, less cubes and more cubes and then had to explain why.
Noah has 2 less than Carter or Carter has 2 more letters than Noah. Please practice this language at home! At the end of this week we will be learning to use cubes to measure our foot and classroom objects.
We have been learning about shortest to tallest and shortest to longest. We ordered our names by shortest to longest and ordered different length of strips by shortest to tallest.
We used spaceman sticks around the room and found objects that were longer than our spaceman stick and shorter than our spaceman stick. Children had to explain why something was longer or shorter. (Examples: The spaceman stick stopped and the rocking chair kept going).
