Hello all from Cleveland! I just got my third and final cast on today, this one will be on for 4 weeks and then into a boot. I will hopefully be starting physical therapy soon after that! I am ready to get back into the classroom and teach the amazing kiddos I met last Monday at Open House.
I appreciate you all being supportive and patient during Miss McLaughlin's transition into the classroom. I like to use this website once a week to give you an update about the classroom and what the children are up to at school. Hopefully, we will get some pictures up on the site as soon as we can!
Here are some things that Miss McLaughlin has shared with me during this past week.
1. The children have learned the phonics dance of letters, A and B.
2. Books they have read in class; Chrysanthemum, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Pete the Cat: I love my white shoes, Pete the Cat: Four Groovy Buttons, School's first day.
3. The children have been practicing their names a ton! They have made rainbow names, a bus puzzle, dry erase boards, decorating their first letter of their name, etc.
4. Rules and expectations of the room and school have been a huge part of their day. Learning to walk in the hallway, sit on the carpet in their own space, how to keep hands to themselves, how to use the restroom safely, etc.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend with family and friends!
